Nelssie Marie Francois Jerome is a self-taught jewelry designer and entrepreneur. She is the owner of Akajou Creation, a specialty handmade jewelry boutique shop. Her company specializes in making unique, bold and colorful handmade jewelry. Her collection is sold online and at various arts & craft shops.
Jerome is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in accounting at Florida International University with a minor in Marketing. After successful completion of her High School diploma at the renowned Catholic School, Saint-Francois Xavier in Haiti, she moved to Montreal, Canada where she worked on various community relations projects. At the University of Montreal she received a certificate in Community Action geared towards core training for nonprofits and social organizations.
She started the shop in 2013 after fascination turned passion for creating jewelry using beads.
After showcasing and selling a few of her pieces online in 2011, the demand for her jewelry increased astronomically. She soon started selling on various e-commerce website such as Etsy. Today her company is well sought after and can be found at various arts & craft and jewelry shows such as: Indie Craft Bazar, the African Wardrobe Festival and Made it Myself.
The company’s mission is to make accessorizing easy and fun, with pieces that can be worn on several occasions and with a variety of outfits. Akajou Creation is actively involved in the community, dedicating time to various nursing homes.
